About the Author
Author of Strength for the Moment and Co-founder of Home Instead Senior Care
A woman of many accomplishments and, more importantly, a woman of faith, Lori Hogan has always had a heart for inspiring, guiding and positively impacting the lives of others.
Lori’s caregiving experience started early, growing up with a brother who had special needs and later caring for grandparents and raising four children. In 1994 Lori and her husband Paul founded the Home Instead Senior Care® network provides personalized care, support and education to help enhance the lives of aging adults and their families. Today, this network is the world's leading provider of in-home care services for seniors, with more than 1,000 independently owned and operated franchises that are estimated to annually provide more than 50 million hours of care throughout the United States and 12 other countries.
Local Home Instead Senior Care offices employ approximately 65,000 CAREGiversSM worldwide who provide basic support services that enable seniors to live safely and comfortably in their own homes for as long as possible. The Home Instead Senior Care network strives to partner with each client and his or her family members to help meet that individual's needs. Services span the care continuum – from providing companionship and personal care to specialized Alzheimer's care and hospice support. Also available are family caregiver education and support resources. At Home Instead Senior Care, it's relationship before task, while striving to provide superior quality service.
Today, nearly 1,000 Home Instead Senior Care® franchises in the U.S. and 16 other countries employ CAREGivers℠ that go into the homes of aging adults to provide services such as companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands and shopping. Lori plays a vital role in the growth of the Home Instead Senior Care network by inspiring hundreds of franchise owners and tens of thousands of Home Instead CAREGivers℠.
Serving Her Community and Beyond
A former Miss Nebraska USA and a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Lori devotes much of her time serving through organizations that benefit her regional community and beyond. She currently serves on the boards of Family First Nebraska, the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce Board and The Home Instead Senior Care Foundation.
While many of her professional endeavors have focused on adults and seniors, Lori remains dedicated to youth as well. She co-chairs the American Heart Association Sweetheart program, a leadership program for select young women in high school; Lori has mentored young ladies in the modeling school she once owned; and she has served as a guide for confirmation students of her church.
Lori has also been a long-time member and leader of Bible Study Fellowship, a group that contributed much input, inspiration and prayer to Strength for the Moment.
Strength for the Moment is Lori’s second published book for family caregivers. In 2009, Lori and Paul Hogan co-authored Stages of Senior Care: Your Step-by-Step Guide to Making the Best Decisions. The book was a USA Today Bestseller and has made a positive impact in helping seniors and their adult children make informed decisions about care options.
