I always knew that I could stop and see what others needs may be. But God is showing me how to use this gift by being a caregiver for 2 of my friends. Ken is 83 and Leeann is 84. She went in for knees surgery so they asked that I stay with Ken. Ken is wheel chair dependent from a massive stroke. I had to go from being a good friend, to being the caregiver of all of his personal needs. From bathing to getting him on the toilet after giving him an enema. After 2 weeks, Leeann came home and needed me to help her also. So I have been here for a month, leaving me home, husband and pets to be here for them. Leeann reminds me of Marie on the show "Everyone love Ramond"! I don't do any of the cooking like she would do nor does it taste as good as she would do. Really, there isn't much that I do that isn't quite up to par. I have to walk away some times and just pray to God that He gives me the strength and patence to continue. I say the St. Frances prayer alot, focusing on the "to comfort, than to be comforted..to understand, than to be understood." I have also realized that all those time I didn't like my short fat legs, wishing I could have the long, pretty legs like some of my friends. I now am just grateful that my legs get me to where I want to go and do what I need them to do. Ken's legs can't do that any more. So I pray I never look at my legs in the same way again.
Thank you for being here for me, I didn't even know about this site, so God quided me here..Praise be to God!
