I am a caregiver I go to peoples homes to take care of their love ones so that the family can go to work and not worry if the one who is sick will be okay when they have to work. I feel that Jesus …more
I'm considered a strong person. Ha ! In 2009 I lost my sister-in-law (cancer) in January; my Mother(cancer) in March; my Dad (heart) in May; my husband's friend (motorcycle accident) late May; sister-in-law (Lupus); and best friend (murdered) in October. By my faith in Jesus, I survived all that and have kept going with the full time care of my husband of 44 years.
We both joined the church in 2002. thru the guidance of two wonderful friends. Old friends and new have always been here for us. A new parish family to lean on. People with lots to teach and share with us about Faith and God. They are the real strength...
This is about two of those people. Tim and Helene---there aren't enough words to thank them for everything. The last 3 years they've been my caregivers. Here to help out, here to listen, sometimes just here. Tim has sat up with me during hospital stays, driven me or ran errands night or day. From tears to laughter, Helene listens....something everyone needs.
I'm the caregiver and the strong one ! Right!!! By faith I found them and by the love of Jesus they have become the caregivers Caregivers. Thank you both.

A touch of the master's hand you may not feel as you walk this dry desert of a journey you are on. But seek his face and you will find him. Life is hard but God is good! Heaven is starting to look better isn't it? Hold on he has a plan for you yet! God bless!

We are told that to those that God has given much, He expects much. Your role as caregiver is so very demanding! Yet, He has provided you with the gift of caring for others, He has provided your husband as your primary human support and others in your circle as other supports for you in your demanding role. I pray that you will see the value of the role of caregiver despite the sadness that comes with helping others at the end of their life's journey. Those we love may physically leave us, however the place they have made in our hearts is always there. We grieve, but not in vain, for we know we will see them again. This is a paraphrase of a verse that I have held onto for many years. I hope that it will strengthen and encourage you as you continue in the role you have been directed to. I will pray for you.
